Publisher Account Manager

WhizzCo is looking for a dedicated, data-driven Publisher Account Manager with a passion for digital media to optimize revenue and serve as a valuable resource/point of contact. The Publisher Account Manager will work with top-tier publishers to help implement and launch the WhizzCo content recommendations platform on their online assets, track post-launch performance, and provide strategic direction for new opportunities to grow revenue. The Account Manager will largely focus on optimizing existing relationships by upselling new initiatives to publishers and improving the metrics on their site.

What are some of the things you do on a day-to-day basis?

  • Manage and grow relationships with premium publisher clients and strategic partners
  • Understand the company’s strategic objectives and map WhizzCo platform capabilities to the needs of the organization
  • Develop relationships at all levels across the organization
  • Understand client strategic objectives & KPIs in order to be able to intelligently identify opportunities and effectively upsell and grow the partnership
  • Monitor and analyze metrics and proactively take initiative to improve results
  • Understand WhizzCo’s platform capabilities and the value proposition to the Publisher based on the specific capability and user role.
  • Become a trusted advisor and single point of contact to the client
  • Work closely with internal WhizzCo teams as the liaison for all business and technical issues and opportunities
  • Be a field advocate and communicate / advocate client needs to the Product Management team.
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of performance reports and market insights to partners to further support growth opportunities and recommendations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the WhizzCo platform and services.

What are the skills a good Publisher Account Manager needs to have?

  • A minimum of 3 years of client-facing experience in the digital media/online publisher space
  • A solid understanding of web technologies and the digital media revenue ecosystem, including web advertising measurements and analytics
  • Outstanding relationship management and customer service skills to go above and beyond for your clients.
  • Very strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by monitoring/identifying trends with data
  • Highly motivated, proactive, dedicated and creative in order to pull all necessary resources for the client
  • High attention to detail, organized with strong communication skills
  • Experience with CRM software and MS Excel (or Google Sheets)

Publisher Sales Manager

WhizzCo is looking for a strategic Publisher Sales/Development Manager to join our US team.

We are looking for a Publisher Development Manager, responsible for driving publishers’ partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned ad-tech professional to be a driving force behind growing our reach in the US.

As a Publisher Development Manager, you will prospect, acquire and grow relationships with strategic publishers. The ideal candidate is a well-regarded publisher development professional, experienced in deal-making as well as operational aspects of publisher monetization. The candidate should also have a solid working knowledge of the online advertising industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue from publisher partners to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Contribute to Whizzco’s publisher development strategies.
  • Build relationships across publisher organizations (executives, sales teams, ad ops, research)
  • Track and manage publisher acquisition pipeline and account activities.
  • Work closely with internal teams on sales strategy, techniques and execution.
  • Manage all facets of the sales process from pre-sale to close, including ongoing sales consultation.
  • Contribute to publisher retention and relationship management, in addition to Account Management, with the goal of ensuring high publisher satisfaction.
  • Where required, be able to present Whizzco’s offering in front of senior Publisher representatives.
  • Build and grow a sales pipeline of premium publishers across the US market.
  • Develop a clear understanding of each publisher’s business and its needs.
  • Educate publishers on developments in the ecosystem and how our product offering addresses the challenges they face.
  • Develop complex sales strategies to identify key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and address contractual concerns to close agreements

Requirements

  • 4+years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience working at an ad serving technology company and/or large media company
  • Strong knowledge of Internet advertising models, ad optimization, audience trends and technologies
  • Strong analytical ability and experience with CPM models
  • An understanding of online advertising
  • Strong negotiation skills and strategic mindset
  • Knowledge of the pre and post-sales process
  • Existing relationships with large premium publishers (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience in digital media with an in-depth understanding of the advertising landscape and publisher tech stack;
  • Strong abilities to persuade at a very senior level of an organization
  • Analytical/strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful, able to initiate change and motivate innovation and creativity.
  • You have a basis for execution and a strong drive and sense of urgency to get things done.
  • Process-driven: tracking, publisher onboarding.
  • Customer-focused – with excellent communication, networking and negotiation skills
